Bandwagon

No matter what the political afflitation or weather they agree with our government and/or their policies, most people Support out Troops. Everyone knows someone this day in age that is in the military. You don't have to agree with the over all decisions of the higher decision makers to support the ones that are sent out to serve the mission.

Now this isn't about the government or our military. It's about supporting individuals that are part of the over all bigger picture.

Okay, right off the bat everyone has players they love and players they hate. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Bandwagon fans drive me nuts! When a team is doing well, people come out of the wood works. Fine whatever. My beef is with the fan's that one minute are like this player is great, amazing, blah blah blah.  The minute the same player hits a slump this fan is kicking them to the curb and saying they are washed up and need to be traded.

Recently has involved in a feed about this on twitter. I was gonna leave it alone, but I favorite a comment where someone called an individual a bandwagon fan, and for good reason.

My agrement is that if you're going to support and team, especially one that isn't great, you need to support the players. Don't start bashing them when they slip. Athletes feed off the fans energy, if we stop believing in them, how are they going to bounce back. Come one people it's not like you're sitting in the basement BSing with your buddies, you're posting this stuff online!

When a player falls into a slump it's never good, when it's pitcher it's even worse. People notice it more and are a little more unforgiving.

In the case of last night's Mariners game, Tom should not have been brought in to a 1 run game. He's having a hard time with location and has been taken out of the closing roll to be used in non stress situations. He gave up a home run, and the flood gates opened on the negativity. Tom did manage to work 2 innings, got a couple strike outs and only gave up the one run. Considering the situation he held it together well. I'm hoping Tom gains the confidence he needs, and works out the kinks. I believe we'll get out Bartender back!

Blind Hearted Love & Faith

Recently posted on Twitter that I was going to give this blog thing a try. Low and behold I already had a  blog set up...

So here I am, sitting in a ballroom...they are teaching a group to use basic apps on iPhone & iPad that can help their non profit groups to be more relatable to younger generations...but let's talk about something else.

Did anyone see the Mariner's game yesterday? If you follow me on Twitter (@soundtechdez) you know I did not. I was here in this ballroom with no internet and wonky phone service. I had to rely on Twitter for all updates on the game. I was going crazy!

I am passionate about my sports and my teams. My coworkers think I'm nuts, yesterday was no exception. We arrived at the hotel at 9am to load in a show. Come 12:20 my phone notified me that the game was going to be starting soon.

All morning my phone had been going off with text messages from different people asking if I was going to or at the game. I had been there Monday and Tuesday. Once the game started I started receiving the messages "did you see that'... Morales juggling catch into the crowd for example.  Right around the time that the meeting was getting into full swing was when the game should have been wrapping up, but wait... let's go into extra innings!!!!

Let's jump to the 14th inning... Chicago puts 5 on the board. One of the RBI's credited to former Mariner Casper Wells. Tweeps are posting that they no longer like him. 5 runs in extra innings you'd think it was over, but no. Mariners post 5 runs as well. "Hey did you see the Seager's Grand Slam?!?!"

Meeting ends at the top of the 15th...Coworkers walk over to my control table and ask what's up and are shocked to hear the game is still going. We hang out watching my time line to see what happens...

Seattle loses to Chicago in 16 innings 7-5

Ask any Mariners fan's how they fell about yesterdays game and I believe you'll get something along the lines of having their heart being ripped out and in pieces on the floor.

Having only experienced the game via tweets and text, while sitting in a ballroom unable to show emotion, I was on the ledge. Information on what was going on through out the game couldn't come through quick enough on my phone. During the 14th I was bouncing in my chair. Luckily the meeting was rowdy and I went unnoticed. But in the end I was completely deflated. Speechless.

The Mariners captured my heard decades ago, and I don't foresee getting it back.

MAC Friendly!

Why can't the world be more MAC friendly? It drives me nuts! For example when I want to leave someone a comment on MySpace I have to use a PC. Even to set up this blog I had to use a PC. Now granted I have a PC and a MAC I perfer using my MAC! Arg, that's my little rant.
